At least six people were injured in a crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Westborough early Wednesday morning, according to the town’s fire department.
At 12:21 a.m. on Wednesday, the department wrote in a brief post on X at that six ambulances were working on six patients, including two people heavily trapped. At that time, just one lane of the highway was open heading west.
Less than an hour earlier, the department said it was responding to a “major crash” near the 105-mile marker on the highway.
The crash involved a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer, WCVB-TV reported.
Images from the scene show a truck with heavy damage to its front side and a tractor-trailer in a wooded area off the highway.
Massachusetts State Police could not immediately be reached regarding the collision.
