The construction of a new high-speed internet service in Northampton is underway.
This announcement was made after the city of Northampton released a two-year study in Sept. 2023 which showed the ever-increasing importance of broadband while proposing ideas for making the service more available and affordable to residents.
“The official start of construction in Northampton is a huge step forward in bringing truly high-speed internet to residents and businesses in western Massachusetts,” Gateway Fiber’s Massachusetts general manager Sarah Lang said in the release.
