Legislators call for ‘immediate action’ at Mass. prisons in wake of attack on officers

A group of state legislators has called on Gov. Maura Healey to take action to secure the state’s prisons in the wake of an attack that injured five correction officers at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center.

State Reps. Kimberly Ferguson, R-1st Worcester, Jonathan Zlotnik, D-2nd Worcester, and state Sen. Michael Moore, D-2nd Worcester, authored the Oct. 8 letter to Healey.
