A man from Salem was identified as the person who was pulled from the water by a Beverly yacht club last week and later died, the Essex County District Attorney’s Office announced.
William M. Cass, 82, of Salem was pronounced dead at Beverly Hospital on Oct. 8.
At around noon that day, witnesses saw Cass fall into the water by the Bass Haven Yacht Club and not resurface, the district attorney’s office said.
