Attendees of a fall festival in Marshfield on Saturday were in for a treat when a famous country music star took the stage for a surprise performance.
“Something in the Orange” hit singer Zach Bryan joined Levitate’s Flannel Jam with the band Trampled by Turtles during their set at 6:30 p.m. on the Hoot Stage.

The 28-year-old country musician was not on the annual fall music festival’s list of performers, which featured bluegrass, jam, folk and Americana artists on two stages at the Levitate grounds.
The autumnal affair began at 12 p.m. on Oct. 12. Besides a schedule of eight performances, fairgoers enjoyed fall-themed food and drinks, craft and other creative vendors. Tickets started at $79.
“This is one of the best bands in the world,” said Bryan during the performance, as he pointed at the Trampled by Turtles artists strumming guitars beside him.
The country star added that he’d been listening to the band — which started headlining for Flannel Jam in 2019 — since he was 18 years old.
Bryan performed several songs with the band, including his own hit “Revival.”
“Cheers guys, we love you,” Bryan said as he held up a beer toward the audience, then walked off stage.
The country star, who grew up in Oklahoma, purchased a $7.5 million home in Duxbury this past July, according to a report from Boston.com. Multiple social media posts by Bryan and his girlfriend, Brianna Lapaglia, show the pair spending time at the home and in Massachusetts.
The second Levitate Flannel Jam celebration of this year will be held on Nantucket on Oct. 14. The organization did not respond to MassLive for comment on Bryan’s performance.
