BOSTON — Matt Poitras was running out of gas when he collected the puck just inside the offensive blue in front of the Bruins bench.
In his first game in almost nine months, he’d already played over 45 seconds on that shift late in overtime, leaving him exhausted. But before getting off the ice, he had the presence of mind to stop and wait just long enough for Trevor Moore’s momentum to push the Kings forward past him. Poitras then sent a backhand pass through the opened lane to David Pastrnak and then headed to the bench.
