AMHERST — Amherst and Northampton, two rival towns only separated by the Connecticut river, duked it out on a crisp October night to determine who would hold the title as the winner of ‘The Battle of the Bridge’.
With so much at stake for the Hurricanes, against a longstanding rival, on their home turf and on senior night, Amherst won the bridge with a 55-8 victory against the Blue Devils.
