SOUTHWICK — Looking for a competitive advantage when approaching manufacturers that require laser marking, engraving, welding, and tube cutting for their products, Nitor Laser was recently awarded a state grant of nearly $80,000 that it is using for workplace training as it completes the requirements needed to be certified as an ISO 9001 manufacturing facility.
“It opens up a lot of doors for us … and will give us a competitive advantage,” said Stephen Phillips, the president and co-founder of the company, about its effort to reach the International Organization of Standardization certification.
