SPRINGFIELD — Video from a parking lot murder just after midnight on June 9, 2019, clearly shows a gang-related slaying committed by two local men and accomplices, a county prosecutor says, but defense attorneys maintain that the very same video doesn’t show their clients at all.
In the opening statements for a jury trial Tuesday afternoon, attorneys both for and against Kaevon Brimfield and co-defendant Gilfrey Gregory focused on the video taken from a surveillance camera in the back parking lot of the River Valley Counseling Center in Chicopee. The video is believed to show the last moments of Charles White, 27.
