Voters will make a final decision in two key races in Springfield and Chicopee in Tuesday’s primary election, but election officials fear the choice will be made by very few people.
“The election is not generating a lot of interest so far,” Chicopee City Clerk Keith Rattell said.
In parts of Springfield and Chicopee, the race for Senate in the Hampden District will be decided in the Democratic primary, since there is no Republican challenger in the general election. Incumbent Sen. Adam Gomez, who is running for his third term, is being challenged by Springfield City Councilor Malo Brown.
