WESTFIELD — Acting on a tip, officers with the Westfield Police Department executed a search warrant this week at the residence of a man suspected of stealing dozens of lawn decorations and sports equipment from homes in the city and in Southwick.
After officers searched the home of Christopher C. Wert, 37, on Southwick Road, Westfield, he was charged with four counts of larceny under $1,200 and one count of threatening to commit a crime, according to court records.
“Wert has been targeting outdoor items such as lawn ornaments, lawn furniture and sports equipment kept outside in both Westfield and Southwick over the last few months,” the Westfield Police Department posted on its Facebook page on Wednesday.
