Ex-All Star reliever maps out next rehab starts, potential date for Red Sox debut

BOSTON — Liam Hendriks knows not to take anything for granted as he clears the last obstacles before returning to a major league mound. Still, the three-time All-Star can still feel it getting close.

Hendriks, who remains on track to make his Red Sox debut in September — about 13 months after undergoing Tommy John surgery — has made three rehab appearances (one for Worcester, two for Portland) since Aug. 18 and will continue his progression at Polar Park this week. Hendriks is slated to pitch for the WooSox on Wednesday and again on Friday, marking the fourth and fifth times he’ll see game action.
