An man died after having a “medical incident” while boating on Whitehall Reservoir in Hopkinton on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Another boater noticed the person in distress and called 911, speaking to a dispatcher as first responders made their way to the reservoir around 4:42 p.m., Police Chief Joseph Bennett and Fire Chief Gary Daugherty said in a joint statement.
By the time first responders arrived to the Wood Street reservoir, the man had been assisted onto an island in the reservoir by another boater, according to the statement. The other boater provided “critical care” to the man.
