Do you know someone who is a Hispanic or Latino leader in Massachusetts? MassLive wants to hear from you.
National Hispanic Heritage Month is Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, and MassLive is looking for reader nominations for our ongoing Massachusetts leader series to highlight during that time.
Hispanic Heritage Month began in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson, and later was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to encompass a month-long period.
The month-long recognition is a way to acknowledge the role Hispanic and Latino people have in all of our communities and the world.
MassLive began its Massachusetts leaders series in 2023 to showcase individuals making a difference across the state. Leaders in the Black, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous, Asian and Pacific Islander, and LGBTQ+ communities have been highlighted.
MassLive will publish profiles of Hispanic/Latino leaders over the course of National Hispanic Heritage Month, and we want to hear from you on who we should talk to.
Please nominate individuals by filling out the form at this link or in the embedded form below, and please be sure to include contact information for how we can reach the person.
Thank you for your help!
