Detectives are investigating after law enforcement pulled a body from the Charles River Saturday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police.
State police responded to the river around 9:30 a.m. after receiving reports about a body floating in the river, police said. Law enforcement from the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Marine Unit and others responded to the scene and secured the body.
The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the body and is determining the person’s manner and cause of death, state police said. The district attorney’s office is still investigating the person’s death.
No further information — including where the body was pulled from and the identity of the person who died — has been released.
