It’s great news for the United States in the medal count. The U.S. has dominated the total medal count for most of the games. But it wasn’t until recent days that the American contingent took the lead in gold medals, taking the top spot from China.

The U.S. women’s basketball team is in action Wednesday as they take on Nigeria in the quarterfinals. That is set for 3:15 p.m. EST. Other women’s hoops quarterfinals include Serbia vs. Australia, Spain vs. Belgium and Germany vs. France.
