ARLINGTON, Texas — Second baseman David Hamilton endured a tough July. On June 24, Hamilton’s average was up to .282 with a .782 OPS, as he continued to make strides and establish himself at the big league level.
Then, Hamilton began a regression. From June 28 through last Wednesday, he slashed .176/.228/.230 over a period of 23 games. His average dipped to .248 and the at-bats weren’t of the same quality.
