Mass. man killed in shooting was active at church, obituary says

A 22-year-old man killed in a shooting in Brockton loved playing basketball and spending time with his friends, according to his obituary.

Romualdy Pierre-Charles was shot and killed at his home on Vesey Street in Brockton on July 24, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office has said. One of 10 siblings, Pierre-Charles leaves behind five brothers and four sisters, his obituary reads.

Pierre-Charles, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, was a student at Quincy Community College at the time of his death. He was also active at the Brockton Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where he was a member of the drum corps and drill team. Pierre-Charles was also a member of the Pathfinders Club and the Brockton Temple Guiding Light Club, religious organizations affiliated with the Seventh-Day Adventist church.

In the obituary, his family recalled Pierre-Charles’ love for basketball. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and was an “inspiring rapper.”

Services for Pierre-Charles will be held at the Brockton Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Aug. 18 at 10:30 a.m., with burial to follow at Central Cemetery in Randolph.
