The National Weather Service issued an updated high surf advisory at 3:17 a.m. on Monday valid for Monday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. for Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Plymouth and Barnstable counties.
The weather service adds, “Large breaking waves and dangerous rip currents at ocean beaches.”
“Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion,” explains the weather service. “Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.”
