Southwick Select Board approves $2.45M to fund 8 road improvement projects

SOUTHWICK — With a wish list of 28 road improvement projects provided by the DPW two weeks ago, the Select Board spent less than 15 minutes on Monday allocating the $2.45 million at its disposal on eight projects.

“We need to get as many projects done as we can get done and have a measurable impact in a lot of areas,” Select Board member Douglas Moglin about the projects approved by him and board members Jason Perron and Diane Gale.

In late June, Public Works Director Randy Brown provided the board a list of 28 “high priority” road improvement projects with an estimated total construction cost of $15.7 million and asked the board to determine which projects should be funded with the $2.45 million available.
