After filing a notice with the state to layoff 100 Massachusetts-based employees, Yankee Candle Company, Inc. confirmed it is relocating some operations from a Massachusetts distribution center to one in Newville, Pennsylvania, a spokesman from the company told MassLive Tuesday.
The clarification comes after the company — the nation’s largest specialty brand of premium scented candles with headquarters in South Deerfield and owned by Newell Brands — gave details last week about plans it initially, but vaguely, announced in January.
