Boston police officer hit by car during firearms investigation

A Boston police officer was taken to the hospital after he was hit by a car while responding to a call for individuals with guns in Dorchester late Tuesday night, police said.

Officers were sent to 33 Stanton St. at 11:37 p.m. after receiving information about individuals with guns in that area, Sgt. Detective John Boyle, a spokesman for Boston Police, told MassLive. A vehicle then “took off” and hit an officer who had responded to the scene, Boyle said.

The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to Boyle.
