SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Mayor Domenic J. Sarno ordered cooling centers to open across the city in anticipation of increased temperatures in the ongoing heat wave that has blanketed much of the country.
Friday, Sarno and Health and Human Services Commissioners Helen Caulton Harris ordered cooling centers opened for three days as temperatures are expected to climb into the mid to high 90s, accompanied by high humidity.
