SPRINGFIELD — Standing in front of an expanse of gravel in the sweltering heat, Mayor Domenic J. Sarno announced Wednesday two pickleball and two tennis courts soon will rise from the patch of dirt.
This is the second time in three weeks Sarno and Thomas Ashe, director of parks, buildings and management, have been joined by members of neighborhood councils and the Springfield Park Commission to celebrate the addition of pickleball courts in the city, which currently has none.
