HOLYOKE — A collaborative effort between a nonprofit, various Holyoke churches and a state program ended Saturday with a party in Chestnut Street Park and a free food distribution to families in need.
Called “Love and Hope for Holyoke Day of Worship,” the purpose of the effort was to “activate” local churches to work together with secular groups and government agencies for a unified approach to addressing issues of poverty and need in the community.
