Iconic reggae punk band Sublime took the Stoke Stage at Levitate Music and Arts Festival on Sunday, July 7, featuring two of the group’s original members as well as the son of Sublime’s late founding member, Bradley Nowell.
While addressing a packed crowd, front man Jakob Nowell called Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson — members of Sublime’s original lineup — his uncles.
“Thank you for being here and checking out me and my friends up here,” Nowell said. “[We] traveled a long way to be here from Los Angeles County But truth be told we’d rather be right here, right now with all you beautiful people.”
The popular 1990s band played a slew of hits including their signature songs “What I Got,” “Santeria,” “Wrong Way,” and “Doin’ Time.” Sublime was the last act and final headliner to perform at Levitate Music and Arts Festival this year.
The 11th annual festival saw performances about 30 artists at the Marshfield Fairgrounds in Marshfield from Friday, July 5 to Sunday, July 7.
In addition to welcoming more than 20 food trucks, Levitate’s creator market featured more than 40 vendors selling everything from hand-blown glass, locally thrown pottery and original artwork.
Food highlights included heart-shaped empanadas from Matilda Empanadas, The Big Sexy from Broccoli Bar and braised pork wonton tacos as well.
