‘Avoid the sun’: Hot temperatures could be dangerous Monday, Tuesday

Temperatures could be dangerous Monday and Tuesday with the National Weather Service warning to “drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, avoid the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.”

A heat advisory has been issued for part of the state, including Springfield, Worcester, and Brockton. It lasts from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

“Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses,” the weather service wrote.

The heat index is expected to be between 95 degrees and 100 degrees, the weather service predicted.

There is also a dense fog warning on Cape Cod Monday.

There is only a one quarter mile or less visibility due to the dense fog, which can make driving difficult.

“If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you,” the weather service said.

It will last until noon Monday.

Rain is expected Tuesday night and it’ll likely last throughout the week. Although it won’t make things much cooler.

Wednesday is expected to have a high of 87 degrees.
