3-year-old girl flown to hospital after being pulled from pool at Massachusetts home

A 3-year-old girl was flown to a Boston Hospital on Sunday after she was pulled from a pool at a home in Georgetown unresponsive, officials said.

A 3-year-old girl had been submerged underwater for more than 3 minutes in an above-ground pool at a home on North Street in Georgetown a little before 5 p.m. Sunday, officials said. Off-duty firefighters from Georgetown and Newbury were the first to arrive at the scene and learned the girl had been pulled from the pool but was not breathing, Georgetown Fire Chief Matthew McKay and Police Chief David Sedgwick said in a joint statement.

The firefighters began CPR and restored the girl’s pulse and breathing, according to the statement.
