“James” didn’t speak any English when he arrived in the U.S. at 16 years old after fleeing gang threats in El Salvador. Within two years, he found himself in an intense sexual relationship with his school counselor at Boston International Newcomers Academy.
That’s according to a civil lawsuit filed on June 28 in the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts by the now-28-year-old man, identified in court documents as “James Jones No 10.” The man alleges he was groomed, sexually assaulted and harassed by the masters’ level school counselor starting in the 10th grade, when he was an undocumented student who “spoke no English and lacked an adult’s understanding of social and sexual relationships.”
