Mass. man stole food from driver at Burger King drive-thru window, police say

A 33-year-old Massachusetts man stole food from a driver at a Burger King drive-thru window in Reading and ran away, according to the Reading Police Department.

At around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, police said they responded to reports of a man causing a disturbance and stealing food at a Reading Burger King. The man, according to police, had stolen a food order from one of the drivers at the drive-thru window.

He then ran away, police said.

The man, who is known to police, was found again about 20 minutes later when a resident on Main Street reported that a man was in their backyard and refused to leave, police said. He had also exposed himself while in the backyard, police said.

When police arrived, the man was standing over a Burger King bag. Police arrested the man and charged him with unarmed robbery, disorderly conduct, open and gross lewdness and larceny under $1,200.

He was scheduled to be arraigned in Woburn District Court.
