SPRINGFIELD — Since the Forest Park pool opened last week, a group of vandals have jumped the locked fence, threatened lifeguards, pulled a gun on staff and defied police daily.
The last straw came Wednesday when they climbed the fence, wrenched lockers and a life jacket rack from anchors attached to a brick building and smashed them before throwing them in the pool. They shattered several bottles leaving glass in the pool and strewn across the deck.
