Southwick residents’ thoughts to be sought during land trust kickoff party

SOUTHWICK — While the Southwick Land Trust has billed its Sunday kickoff as a celebration, it’s also a chance for residents to learn more about the nonprofit’s missions and goals, and to share their top priorities for preserving open space.

“We want to hear from the town’s people … and to let the town know who we are,” land trust board member Maryssa Cook-Obregon said about the party taking place noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, June 23, at the Brass Rail Meeting House at 90 Point Grove Road, Southwick.

The meeting is being called a party, but Cook-Obregon said it will look more like a workshop with informational stations manned by Southwick Land Trust board members to answer questions and gather opinions from residents who attend, and from those who want to get involved.
