$15 million lottery prize claimed from $30 scratch ticket sold in Massachusetts

One lucky lottery player turned a $30 scratch ticket into several million dollars when they claimed the $15 million top prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s 300x game on Thursday.

The $15 million prize is the single largest won in Massachusetts so far this year, topping the $5.37 million prize won from a Megabucks drawing held on May 4.

The winning ticket was sold in Topsfield at the convenience store Country Farms on Main Street. The chances of winning the top prize in the game are 1 in 5.4 million, according to the lottery. The winning ticket claimed on Thursday represents the only time the largest prize in the game has been won.

Of the three total $15 million winners, two now remain, according to the lottery.

Overall, at least 518 prizes worth $600 or more were won or claimed in Massachusetts on Thursday, including 11 in Springfield, 12 in Worcester and 47 in Boston.

The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of winning tickets every day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.
