CHICOPEE – Mayor John L. Vieau is proposing a $259.5 million budget for the fiscal year that starts in July, up 7.3% from the $241 million budget City Council passed a year ago.
Tax rates for property owners will not be set until after the budget is passed.
Budget hearings with department heads are set for 6:15 p.m. June 20, 25 and 27 all the City Hall auditorium.
