A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with an SUV in Wendell Monday afternoon, according to the Leverett Police Department, which provides policing services to the town of Wendell.
Officers were dispatched to the crash site at the intersection of Depot and Farley Road around 3:20 p.m., Leverett police wrote in a Facebook post. There, they discovered that an SUV and a Harley Davidson had collided.
The man who was riding the motorcycle was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to Athol Memorial Hospital, police said. The crash shut down both roads for four hours Monday afternoon.
Massachusetts State Police and the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office have taken over the case, police said. Neither immediately responded to a request for comment Tuesday morning.
It is unclear whether the motorcyclist survived. No further information has been released.
