WESTFIELD – Despite losing an epic 37-35 second set to No. 8 West Springfield, top-seeded Westfield took the Terriers best shot Saturday and still survived in the Division 2 boys volleyball state quarterfinals, 25-12, 37-35, 25-17, 25-23, to advance to the semifinals.
“It was a big challenge,” Westfield High School boys volleyball coach Tyler Wingate said. “There is a lot of familiarity with both teams playing each other multiple times throughout the year and a lot of them playing together in the offseason.”
