The Worcester Red Sox fell on the road to the Charlotte Knights, 9-4, on Tuesday.
Naoyuki Uwasawa got the loss on the mound after giving up five runs in four innings of work. Chase Meidroth led Worcester from the batter’s box despite the loss, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Bobby Dalbec got Worcester on the board in the first inning with a ground ball single to center field, scoring Meidroth. Luis Robert responded with a solo homer in the bottom of the inning to even the score. Worcester’s Mark Contreras hit a solo homer of his own during the following inning to put the Red Sox back ahead.
Braden Shewmake and Lenyn Sosa each brought in runs for Charlotte in the next two innings to put the Knights back ahead, Corey Rosier responded with a solo homer to cut the lead to one, but Worcester was never able to get over the hump.
Despite an RBI single from Meidroth in the sixth inning, Charlotte scored six more runs to pull away.
Worcester plays again on Wednesday against Charlotte at 6:35 p.m..
