Several arrests made as MIT clears pro-Palestinian encampment in ‘last resort’

MIT Police arrested 10 pro-Palestinian protesters at the university early Friday morning as they cleared an encampment that had been established weeks prior on the school’s Cambridge campus to protest its ties to Israel, a spokesperson confirmed.

Police arrived at the encampment on Kresge Lawn, which students had subbed the Scientists Against Genocide Encampment, or SAGE, around 4 a.m. Friday and entered the encampment roughly 20 minutes later after warning protesters they were planning to do so, according to a timeline of events published by The Boston Globe.
