If Worcester County wants to seriously tackle homelessness, it needs to build 1,000 more permanent “supportive housing” units faster in the next decade, the Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance told MassLive this week.
The alliance’s call for more supportive housing came after a meeting held by the Massachusetts Alliance for Supportive Housing (MASH) at Assumption University on Tuesday. The conference hosted state leaders, advocates and housing experts, who conducted workshops focused on finding solutions that will build 10,000 permanent supportive housing units throughout Massachusetts by 2030.
