Snow totals: How much snow fell overnight in Mass.?

A quick Thursday night into Friday snowfall was light compared to a nor’easter earlier in the week that blanketed southern Massachusetts and several other Northeast states, but some communities actually got more snow Thursday than Tuesday.

As of 7:30 a.m. on Friday, the highest snowfall total across the state was recorded in Clarksburg in Berkshire County with 3.5 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Fellow Berkshire County town Savoy reported 2.9 inches, the Weather Service reported.

Notably, northern Berkshire County didn’t get any snow in Tuesday’s storm.

Intense winds also accompanied the snow. Gusts of up to 54 mph were recorded in northern Berkshire County, according to the Weather Service.

Few other Massachusetts communities reported more than an inch of snow on Friday morning. The amateur snowfall reporting site cocorahs.org showed mostly reports of 0.5 to 1.5 inches of snow across Massachusetts on Friday morning.

The highest snowfall total reported on that site was also in Berkshire County, in the community of Cheshire, at 2.8 inches.

Observers in Westminster and Sterling in Worcester County both reported 1.5 inches of snow.

A Kingston observer in Plymouth County — which saw significant snow on Tuesday — reported 1.3 inches on Friday morning.

Two observers in northern Essex County, in Groveland and Haverhill, reported 1.1 and 1.2 inches of snow respectively. Conway, in Franklin County, had a recorded total of 1.2 inches.

Less than a half inch was recorded in Worcester.

While it wasn’t a great deal of snow, cold temperatures may help it to stick around a little while.

The National Weather Service reported wind chill values in the 10s and 20s across Massachusetts.
