Goodspeed Musicals’ Terris Theatre in Chester, Connecticut, will celebrate its 40th season with three new musicals. “A Complicated Woman” opens the season (May 10 to June 2) which profiles theater impresario John Kenley, who brought big stars from Gene Kelly to Ann Miller to his Ohio theater. He wintered in Florida, where John disappears and later becomes Jean. “A Complicated Woman” features a book by Ianne Fields Stewart, music by Jonathan Brielle and lyrics by Sam Salmond and Jonathan Brielle. It will be directed by Tony Award nominee Jeff Calhoun. The summer production will be the zany and madcap new musical “Ask for the Moon!” running July 19 to Aug. 11. “Ask for the Moon!” features book and lyrics by Tony Award winner Darko Tresnjak, who will also direct the production and music by Oran Eldor. Former artistic director of Hartford Stage, Tresnjak directed the award-winning “A Gentleman;s Guide to Love and Murder” and “Anastasia” on Broadway. A third production will be announced.
