WESTFIELD — Planning Board members last week questioned the size, parking plan and drainage system of a proposed self-storage unit expansion on the city’s North Side.
Matt Rokosz, owner of JML Storage, is proposing adding eight 40-foot containers and 15 additional 20-foot containers to his property at 264 Lockhouse Road. The 40-foot containers would each be divided into four 8- by 10-foot storage units, while the 20-foot containers would be one unit each. As part of that expansion, some trees between the existing storage yard and Lockhouse Road have already been cleared.
Rokosz already uses the property for storage of campers and trailers, with some container units at the rear of the property, but the scope of the proposed expansion left Planning Board member Richard Salois uncomfortable.
