Chicago hoped Hall would add to their offense as well as serve as a mentor for Connor Bedard. But the 32-year-old Hall will undergo knee surgery that will end his season. He’s signed through the 2024-25 season at $6 million per season.

Hall played just 10 games for the Blackhawks and amassed just two goals and two assists for four points. Hall had 16 goals and 20 assists last year for the Bruins and had eight points in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Florida Panthers.
