Jack Jones, former Patriots CB, debuts with Raiders in loss to Dolphins

Jack Jones’ fresh start began quickly when he made his Raiders debut Sunday.

The former Patriots cornerback was released by New England last week after the team thought it was best to “move on” from the 25-year-old. Las Vegas claimed Jones off waivers, reuniting him with his high school and college coach, Antonio Pierce.

Jones played 12 defensive snaps in the Raiders’ loss to the Miami Dolphins and didn’t record a tackle. He was called for an unnecessary roughness penalty, as well. Jones’ workload very well could increase as the season continues, and he could be a strong addition to the Raiders defense.

While things didn’t work out in New England for the corner, Pierce recently said he’s seen growth from Jones and was looking forward to working with him again.
