Person hospitalized after truck crashes into Massachusetts church rectory

One person was hospitalized after a truck crashed into the front of a church rectory in Freetown Sunday.

The crash happened at St. John Neumann Church, located at 157 Middleboro Road in East Freetown, around 4 p.m. on Nov. 5, according to the Freetown Police Department on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Police said eyewitnesses reported a vehicle crashing into a building near the church. According to the church’s website, there are no schedules Masses during the time at which the crash occurred.

Police said one person was hospitalized but did not specify the extent of their injuries. Eversource and the Freetown Building Inspector were onsite to assess damage.

The truck was eventually removed, according to police. The investigation is ongoing. MassLive has reached out to St. John Neumann’s for comment.
