Springfield – The Greater Springfield Harriers, Springfield Parks Department and Fast Feet-The Running Specialists present the 56th annual Richard W. Childs Sr. Trail Races at Van Horn Park beginning Tuesday, June 18.
The 2.4 mile race takes place every Tuesday, June 18 through Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. (with the exception on Aug. 13, when the race begins at 6 p.m.) at Van Horn Park, 494 Armory St. This race is for ages 15 years old and under as of June 18. Entry fee is $2 per week. Featuring fun random raffle prizes.
Points awarded to top finishers in female and male age groups. Age Groups: 13-15, 10-12, 7-9, 6 and under.
On the Aug. 13 finale, trophies and medals awarded based on weekly points. Special random raffle grand prize. Must run 4 of the 9 races to be in Grand prize raffle.
