A 1997 Jeep Wrangler crashed into a wood line on Copicut Road near the intersection of Bell Rock Road around 11:30 p.m. on July 14, Freetown police said. A 29-year-old man, who was the passenger in the car, was seriously injured and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, police said.

Edmund Arsenault, Jr., 28, of New Bedford, was ejected from the Jeep and was unresponsive when police arrived. He was taken to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, where he was later pronounced dead.
