A pair of 16-year-old boys are facing criminal charges in connection with a stabbing in the parking lot outside of Five Below at the Dartmouth Mall, an altercation police believe was “pre-arranged” on social media.
Police went to the mall around 2:50 p.m. on Sunday after receiving a report of a possible stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old New Bedford boy with stab wounds not considered to be life-threatening, Dartmouth police wrote in a Facebook post.
Officers found the other teen involved in the incident, a 16-year-old boy from Fall River, at a Lowe’s less than half a mile away from the mall where the stabbing took place. Police say the teen fled the mall on a bike.
Both teenagers were taken to a local hospital and both now face charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to police. The teenagers could face additional charges, police said.
