Two people were shot in Wakefield Tuesday night in what appears to be a targeted incident, police said.
The shooting happened just after 7 p.m. on Lakeshore Drive, Wakefield Police said in a Facebook post. Police flooded the area, along with the area near Cumberland Farms on Lowell Street.
Police believe the double shooting was an isolated incident and the victims were targeted. The department did not say how seriously the victims were injured.
WCVB reported that both victims were taken to a hospital. NBC 10 Boston reported two men sustained serious injuries.
“This is an active scene and there will be a significant law enforcement presence in the area this evening,” police wrote.
By 10:30 p.m., police K-9s were searching the neighborhoods around Lakeshore Drive looking for evidence, police said.
