Someone in Massachusetts won $1 million from a $10 crossword-themed scratch ticket and came forward Thursday to claim their prize.

The prize was from “$2,000,000 Diamond Cashword,” a scratch ticket game released in January.

The winner claimed their prize through the Greasy Wheel Trust of Worcester, represented by trustee Katherine Bagdis. She opted to receive the prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.

Each “$2,000,000 Diamond Cashword” ticket costs $10 to play. There’s still four $2 million grand prizes and six $1 million prizes remaining to be claimed in the game as of Nov. 23.

The winning ticket was sold at JD’s Variety, 259 Franklin Rd. in Fitchburg.

The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
